The Curtis LED2440A is a 24-Inch 1080p (Full-HD) LED Television. The TV has 1920 x 1080 native resolution for Full-HD (1080p) performance and wide-screen (16:9 aspect ratio) for a complete home theater experience. The super high picture quality has been realized by Curtis engineering with high brightness for a vivid and brilliant picture and with high contrast for deeper blacks and brighter whites. The ATSC TV tuner is integrated for over-the-air HDTV broadcast reception. HDMI inputs are provided so that the digital signals for both video and audio will be transferred without any degradation from Blu-ray Disc Player, DVD Player, Game Player, or Cable/Satellite Box. The VGA port is provided so that you can use the TV as a computer monitor. Comonent Video, Composite Video, and S-Video inputs are available.

TV came with a few cosmetic defects but nothing worth sending it back over. The picture quality is good but I can't seem to get it to adjust to 1080p (I have 5 other 1080p HDTVs throughout my house and none of them have been this difficult to tune.) Luckily my daughter is 2 and doesn't really care about picture quality, just that cartoons are on all day. It was easy to mount which was a bonus. You'll want to purchase an external speaker of some sort as the speaker(s) on this TV will remind you of an old transistor radio. All in all, you get what you pay. It has many input and output jacks on the back and covers most needs well for the computer, RCA, HDMI Coax etc. The sound is a bit weak when it is used as is since the speakers are likely small but I just created a user equalizer profile and pulled down the higher tones and brought up the bass. In the end it sounds ok for a small tv set. Don't expect great sound but it's not by any means what I'd call bad, it's middle of the road ok sound. Since it's not hooked up to a stereo or surround sound I can't tell you what that will be like but I'm sure it'll be much better.Also the design is a nice looking glossy black. There is no other way of putting it. It has no tilt function at all, and it (the TV) naturally leans forward due to the weight of the set. That being said, this was still a good buy. Nice functions, HDMI port, VGA port, and you can just plug in your desktop speakers right from the get go, without having to buy extra stuff. The sound coming from the TV is not great, but loud enough for a bedroom without added speakers. It has a shiny black frame, and it looks great with my XBOX 360. This is my first HDTV, so I'm no expert, but I like it. My games look great, and the set has different color modes/settings to choose from. 720P with 1080P capabilities. I guess that means it shows whatever is being broadcasted. My Xbox always shows in 1080P, so I'm happy. |
