You'll need this kind of resolution for the latest DVD and Blu-ray releases.
Pixel Precise HD Offers Exceptional Image Quality
For razor-sharp images and fluent moving pictures, Pixel Precise HD is a combination of hardware and software that includes dynamic contrast, color booster, 69 billion colors, and HD Natural Motion. The Philips backlight keeps dark areas supremely black and brightens the light areas for superior contrast and an overall vibrant image.
Audio Technology Delivers Surround Sound Experience
Equipped with SRS TruSurround HD, the HDTV immerses you in a rich sound experience, delivering surround sound quality with deep bass, high frequency detail, and crisp, clear vocals. For additional audio options, a Dolby Digital output is handy for connecting to your home theater system.
Multiple Inputs Cater to All Your Viewing Needs
You can quickly and easily connect to a cable or satellite box, camcorder, game console, Blu-ray disc player, DVD player, PC, and more with the HDTV's multiple inputs. Four HDMI inputs with Philips' EasyLink let you control the connected devices with the same remote control you use with the TV, and a VGA cable is all you need for connecting your PC.
Ethernet Connection Offers Easy Access to Netflix and Net TV
An Ethernet connection point makes it simple to connect the HDTV directly to your home network for access to popular Net TV services, and it offers a way to take full advantage of all the watch-instantly TV shows and movies available through Netflix accounts that include streaming.
Energy Efficient Features Reduce Power Consumption
The HDTV's power-saving features include low standby power consumption and high-efficiency materials, which combine to give the HDTV its Energy Star rating.

Phillips really missed the boat on getting hooked up with Amazon, Netflix or other similar companies, if you want an online rich television this is not it. *** update 2 *** While the sound is terrific, there seems to be some kind of limit on the volume to protect against blowing the speakers and if you really want to rock out you'll need to purchase a sound bar or other... Out of the box this TV appeared capable of everything advertised but after a few days i realized that Netflix and the other web enabled programs were very limited in functionality. One peculiar item to mention is that if your using Netflix the sleep timer is not available, that is rediculous! You cannot search Netflix, only play whats in your Instant Queue. So I decided to buy a Roku box which solved all this nonsense. Not to mention this TV doesnt come with a wireless adapter.Secondly, and the most irritating thing is that even with the latest software update, 11-24-2010, the TV freezes about once or twice weekly, when this occurs the remote is not active so you have to unplug the TV and wait a second or two and then power it up again. It became such a hassle to reach behind the set to the power cord located low in the back,(my arm could just barely reach... It came with a wireless dongle. Was easy to set up and install. The Net TV(Netflix, vTuner and Twitter only options) function great. The WIFI Mediaconnect that is supposed to allow you to project your PC to the tv through your network does not. "IF" this had worked the limited offerings on Net TV could be overlooked. Tech support was little to no help. It would be a 5 star set otherwise. |
