| 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful  No better deal at this price point, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Westinghouse LD-3280 32-Inch LED Full HD 1080P TV -Black (Electronics) I have been shopping for a 32" LCD for quite some time now and was surprised to find an LED 1080p for what I expected to pay for a 720p LCD (Under $300). Unit arrived in standard packaging with two-pieces for the stand (assembly requires 2 minutes and a Phillips screwdriver) a rather cheap remote, two AAA batteries (that were crushed into uselessness), and the display. Once assembled, the unit is more pleasing to the eye than the photos seem to show. The Energy Star label on the screen is frustratingly hard to remove - I feared I might damage the unit, but I finally was able to lift a corner and slowly peel it off. AV connections feel flimsy during cabling. Connections should hold up fine during setup, but I doubt they could withstand constant removal and reinsertion. I tested this unit with a blu-ray copy of Avatar - picture quality was superb, with vibrant color reproduction and standard 60hz motion performance. The fact that it is the cheapest of its kind is made clear immediately. I am returning the TV because of the following reasons:1. When your viewing angle is only 5 degrees to the side of the middle, some sort of interfernce pattern manifesting itself as red and blue lines is clearly visible. The effect is worst in large areas of the same color. 2. The sound quality is horrible. I don't expect my 1" thick TV to have perfect bass, but I think they could've done a better job than this. 3. When there is no sound or you press the mute button, the speakers produce a relatively loud noise. I would really recommend anyone who cares even a little about video and audio quality to get a AAA-brand TV. Then lines started forming and eventually picture loss. Called Westinghouse and they want you to pay shipping, $100 to return it for repair. Apparently this is a common problem with these TV's. Save your money do not buy this, should have added the $100 in the beginning and then I would not have had this problem. |
